The Role
As an Accounting Manager at Roofr, you'll play a critical role in managing the day-to-day financial operations of the company. Reporting directly to the Director of Accounting - Controller, you'll be responsible for maintaining accurate financial records, ensuring compliance, and supporting the organization's continued growth. Key Responsibilities
- Manage day-to-day accounting operations including accounts receivable, accounts payable, revenue recognition, payroll, expenses, and taxation
- Lead month-end close procedures for Canadian and US entities, preparing timely and accurate consolidated financial statements in compliance with US GAAP
- Review journal entries, perform account reconciliations, and prepare detailed plan-to-actual variance analysis
- Manage financial year-end close procedures for subsidiaries, including annual financial statement preparation and coordination with external tax consultants
- Assist in preparing financial statement note disclosures in accordance with US GAAP standards
- Research, establish, and document company-wide accounting policies and procedures
- Ensure compliance of all financial and accounting-related activities
- Provide training, mentorship, and performance feedback to team members
- Contribute to ad hoc projects including equity financing, forecasting, budgeting, and insurance renewals
What You'll Bring
- CPA designation (required)
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
- 5+ years of progressive accounting experience, ideally combining public accounting and industry roles
- Strong knowledge of US GAAP and financial reporting requirements
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet strict deadlines
- NetSuite experience considered an asset
- Detail-oriented mindset with strong analytical abilities
