We're seeking a skilled Afrikaans Voice Acting Specialist to contribute to an innovative AI training project. This is a freelance contract opportunity perfect for native Afrikaans speakers with voice acting or voiceover experience. You'll record scripted content with natural delivery, expressive tone, and professional audio quality to help train advanced AI systems.

Project Overview

This project focuses on capturing authentic, high-quality voice recordings in Afrikaans. We're looking for experts who can deliver clean diction, natural conversational flow, and consistent quality across multiple takes. Think light voice acting and voiceover work—we need expressive reads with various tones including friendly, neutral, and authoritative deliveries. If you have a quiet recording space and quality equipment, we want to hear from you.

Language Requirements: You must demonstrate native-level fluency in Afrikaans plus proficiency in at least one additional language (preferably non-English), with either equal proficiency, near-native ability, or strong working knowledge in that secondary language.

What You'll Do

• Record short lines, paragraphs, and scripts in Afrikaans with varied emotional tones and delivery styles
• Participate in paired or group script readings with other Afrikaans speakers, typically lasting around 5 minutes per session
• Follow detailed direction from project leads and complete multiple takes for timing, emphasis, and clarity optimization
• Submit clean, well-labeled, properly formatted audio files on schedule and to specification
• Maintain consistent vocal performance and audio quality throughout the project duration

What You'll Need

• Native-level fluency in Afrikaans with strong, clear, and easy-to-understand speech
• A completely silent recording environment free from background noise, echo, hum, or interference
• Quality audio equipment: a good microphone (USB or XLR preferred) with stable setup and pop filter if possible
• Ability to follow creative briefs, take detailed notes on pronunciation requirements, and adapt to style direction
• Reliable internet connection and a secure computer for file submissions
• Professional approach to deadlines and communication

Nice-to-Have Qualifications

• Prior voice acting, voiceover, podcasting, or on-microphone professional experience
• Demonstrated audio hygiene skills: steady recording levels, consistent microphone distance, and clean raw takes
• Experience working with AI training or similar technical audio projects
