Job Description

About Artie

Artie is a real-time streaming platform that moves production data across systems with zero maintenance. We make high-volume data replication simple, reliable, and scalable for engineering teams worldwide. Our platform powers mission-critical use cases including fraud and risk monitoring, inventory visibility, customer-facing analytics, and AI workloads. Built for engineers who prioritize performance, reliability, and operational simplicity, Artie is experiencing rapid growth backed by top-tier investors including Y Combinator, General Catalyst, Pathlight Ventures, and founders of Dropbox and Mode. Trusted by industry leaders like ClickUp, Substack, and Alloy.

About the Role

We're hiring our first Solutions Engineer to scale Artie's pre-sales and post-sales enterprise motion. This is not a demo-delivery role. You'll go deep with customers on their data architectures, run structured proof-of-value engagements, and serve as the technical backbone of every enterprise deal. Working directly with founders, you'll shape our technical positioning and set the standard for how we win enterprise deals.

What You'll Do

Own the Technical Win

  • Run structured proof-of-value engagements with clear technical success criteria and mutual action plans

  • Partner with Account Executives to drive deals forward from technical discovery through close

  • Be the trusted technical voice in the room with staff engineers, data architects, and platform leads

  • Lead customer conversations that demonstrate deep understanding of their infrastructure challenges

Go Deep on Customer Architectures

  • Understand how customers move data today—their databases, pipelines, cloud and on-premise infrastructure, and pain points

  • Map customer architectures to Artie's capabilities with clarity and confidence, including CDC (Change Data Capture), Kafka integration, cloud data warehouses, and replication patterns

  • Whiteboard solutions and guide customers through integration design processes

  • Evaluate technical feasibility and ROI of data replication strategies for enterprise environments

Deliver Compelling Technical Presentations

  • Translate complex technical concepts—log-based CDC, schema evolution, real-time replication—into measurable business impact

  • Present to mixed audiences: engineers wanting technical depth and executives focused on total cost of ownership (TCO) and reliability

  • Create custom technical demonstrations tailored to customer use cases and data architectures

Be a Product and GTM Force Multiplier

  • Surface field insights to Product and Engineering teams to refine roadmap priorities

  • Identify opportunities to solve manual workflows with AI and automation, continuously improving productivity

  • Work closely with Engineering post-sale to ensure seamless customer handoffs and world-class support

  • Help define standards and best practices for Solutions Engineering at Artie

  • Contribute to thought leadership content on data replication and real-time architecture patterns

What We're Looking For

  • Deep Technical Foundation: Strong background in data engineering, infrastructure, or backend engineering. You understand databases, data pipelines, CDC concepts, and cloud architecture patterns

  • Enterprise Sales Acumen: Experience navigating complex technical sales cycles with multiple stakeholders. Comfortable with proof-of-concept design and execution

  • Communication Excellence: Ability to explain sophisticated technical concepts to both engineers and business leaders. Strong presentation and written communication skills

  • Customer Obsession: Genuine interest in solving customer problems. You ask probing questions and listen more than you talk

  • Ownership Mentality: You thrive in ambiguity and take full ownership of customer outcomes. First Solutions Engineer mindset means you'll define the role as you grow it

  • Hands-On Technical Capability: You can review customer code, understand integration challenges, and troubleshoot technical issues. SQL, scripting, or programming experience is valuable

  • Product Thinking: You naturally think about feature prioritization, customer workflows, and how to maximize product value. You bridge the gap between customer needs and product strategy

💰 Compensation not publicly listed. Market estimate for similar roles: from $70K, varying by experience and location.
