Global Director, Real Estate

About the Role

Avery Dennison is seeking an experienced and visionary Global Director of Real Estate to lead our worldwide real estate strategy and portfolio management. This is a senior leadership position reporting directly to executive management, responsible for overseeing all aspects of the company's real estate operations across multiple regions and markets.

As Global Director of Real Estate, you will drive strategic initiatives that optimize our global real estate footprint, reduce costs, and support business growth objectives. This role offers the unique opportunity to shape real estate policy and execution on a truly global scale, working with diverse teams across different time zones and markets.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and execute global real estate strategy aligned with corporate objectives and financial targets
• Oversee portfolio management, including acquisition, disposition, and optimization of properties worldwide
• Lead lease negotiations, space planning, and facility management initiatives across all regions
• Manage real estate budgets, capital expenditures, and cost reduction programs
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams including Finance, Operations, and HR to support workplace strategies
• Evaluate emerging workplace trends and implement innovative solutions for office design and utilization
• Establish and maintain relationships with external real estate partners, brokers, and service providers
• Ensure compliance with local real estate regulations and environmental sustainability standards
• Report on real estate metrics, KPIs, and provide strategic insights to senior leadership
• Mentor and manage the real estate team across global locations

Required Qualifications

• 15+ years of real estate experience, with at least 5 years in a global leadership capacity
• Proven track record managing large, complex real estate portfolios across multiple countries
• Strong understanding of international real estate markets and regulatory environments
• Excellent strategic planning, financial analysis, and negotiation skills
• Advanced proficiency with real estate management software and analytics tools
• Demonstrated ability to lead cross-functional teams in matrix organizations
• Master's degree in Real Estate, Business Administration, or related field preferred
• Fluency in English required; additional languages a plus
