Our mission is to integrate compliance and threat mitigation efforts, eliminating redundant security practices that weaken an organization's security posture. We help clients understand where to stop spending, where to invest, and how to optimize existing security measures for maximum impact.

The Role

As a Compliance Specialist, you will play a critical role in supporting our compliance and assessment operations. This position combines technical verification, documentation preparation, and analytical work under the guidance of experienced senior team members. You'll work on high-impact projects serving defense contractors and critical infrastructure organizations.

Key Responsibilities

Assessment Support

  • Gather, organize, and review evidence for NIST SP 800-171 and CMMC assessments
  • Prepare comprehensive assessment workbooks and supporting materials for analysts
  • Review policies, system screenshots, logs, and configurations for completeness and accuracy
  • Assist with requirement mapping, accuracy checks, and evidence validation
  • Draft structured notes for assessment objectives under guidance from senior analysts

Documentation Preparation

  • Draft System Security Plan (SSP) narratives based on client interviews and collected evidence
  • Prepare Plan of Action and Milestones (POAM) entries with direction from senior team members
  • Maintain version control and organize internal documentation repositories
  • Contribute to improving internal templates, standard operating procedures (SOPs), and reference materials

Technical and Process Verification

  • Perform verification tasks including checking MFA settings, encryption status, patch levels, and system configuration parameters
  • Assist with Controlled Unclassified Information (CUI) flow mapping across systems, users, and business processes
  • Conduct structured research on security controls, emerging technologies, and implementation patterns

Operational Support

  • Maintain organized evidence repositories and documentation systems
  • Support long-term client engagement under the direction of analysts and senior analysts
  • Contribute to improving consistency, quality, and delivery timelines of all project deliverables

Ideal Candidate Profile

You will thrive in this role if you possess the following qualities:

  • Strong written communication skills with ability to draft clear, professional documentation
  • Curious mindset with comfort learning technical security concepts and frameworks
  • Highly organized, detail-oriented, and reliable in managing complex information
  • Analytical thinking with ability to follow logical processes and identify gaps
  • Openness to coaching, feedback, and continuous professional development
  • Comfort working in process-driven, structured environments
  • Career ambition to grow toward client-facing analyst roles
  • Self-motivation and ability to work independently while seeking guidance when needed
