About the Role
The American Institutes for Research (AIR) is seeking a Contracts & Grants Specialist to join our Contracts, Grants, and Procurement (CGP) team. This is a pivotal position that provides end-to-end contract administration for a diverse portfolio of contracts, grants, and cooperative agreements. You will ensure strict adherence to AIR policies, legal and regulatory requirements, and client provisions while advising operations, program staff, and leadership on risk management and issue resolution.
Reporting to a Senior Contracts Specialist, this role monitors industry trends, manages customer relations, and participates in organization-wide initiatives to modernize operations and ensure AIR's continued success in an evolving landscape.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare, negotiate, and manage various contracts including non-disclosure agreements, teaming agreements, subcontract agreements, consulting agreements, task orders, purchase orders, data use and sharing agreements, grants, cooperative agreements, and master agreements in accordance with AIR policies and regulatory requirements
- Provide end-to-end contract administration and oversight of a diverse contract portfolio
- Advise internal and external stakeholders on contract terms, risk management, and regulatory compliance
- Interpret solicitation requirements and award terms
- Monitor compliance with contractual obligations and client provisions
- Interface regularly with both internal operations teams and external customers
- Contribute to modernization initiatives and process improvements within the CGP function

Work Arrangement
This position offers flexibility to work fully remote within the United States (excluding U.S. territories) or in a hybrid capacity from AIR's offices in Crystal City, VA or Chicago, IL. Occasional travel may be required for meetings and training sessions.
