About This Role

Cribl is expanding its Legal team to support rapid company growth. As Commercial Counsel, you'll join a high-performing, collegial legal team that partners directly with our global Go-To-Market (GTM) organization. This role reports to the Director of Commercial Counsel and offers the opportunity to make a meaningful impact on Cribl's business trajectory while working remotely across multiple time zones.

Key Responsibilities

  • Contract Management: Review, draft, and negotiate a diverse portfolio of contracts including SaaS agreements, software licensing deals, partnership and reseller agreements, MSP contracts, distribution agreements, NDAs, and vendor contracts.
  • Partner Channel Support: Collaborate with and support partner channel teams in facilitating and negotiating deals with external partners to drive revenue growth.
  • Legal Advisory: Provide expert legal counsel to sales and cross-functional teams on commercial legal issues, employing a problem-solving approach that identifies options, discusses associated risks, and supports informed decision-making.
  • Standardized Processes: Implement and utilize standardized contract review and risk-assessment processes, including comprehensive documentation and contract management tools.
  • Cross-Functional Coordination: Partner with internal teams across privacy, security, compliance, and product functions to address complex legal and business issues.
  • Flexible Availability: Occasionally perform duties outside standard working hours to accommodate global team coordination.

Required Qualifications

  • Minimum 5 years of commercial in-house legal experience at a technology company or equivalent technical environment
  • Proven expertise in drafting and reviewing contracts using standardized review and risk-assessment methodologies
  • Strong passion for law, technology, and continuous learning
  • Demonstrated experience supporting sales and partner channel teams in technology companies while maintaining appropriate risk governance
  • Ability to build consensus and align diverse internal and external stakeholders
  • Proven track record in fast-paced, high-growth environments with strong problem-identification and execution skills
  • Proficiency with business and legal operations systems and contract management software
