The Impact You Will Have

As Senior Data Reliability Engineer (DRE), you will drive engagement with Site Reliability across the full breadth of engineering at Elliptic. You will hold every engineer and every team accountable in building highly-resilient, robust, and reliable software. You will be part of a cross-functional, cross-discipline team of Subject Matter Experts and on-callers whose mission is to keep our platform highly performant 24/7/365.

Responsible for a diverse suite of products, you will oversee the Site Reliability of enterprise-grade applications that sit on the critical path, running thousands of queries per second (QPS). Elliptic is known for its extensive and reliable datasets, and you will play a critical role in defining and building out a market-leading foundation for data quality and control. This means building the processes, culture, and frameworks that will power observability, quality, data lineage, and remediation to form an essential pillar of our data and intelligence platform.

What You Will Do

This is a cross-team role with full support from leadership and engineering. You will set the standard for what good looks like across the organization:

• Evangelize SRE & DRE practices across engineering teams
• Lead data quality framework development that provides customers with strong guarantees about data fidelity while supporting marketing and revenue functions
• Define and own the on-call process including establishing system knowledge, commanding incidents, running post-mortems, and ensuring follow-up actions are completed
• Evaluate and improve end-to-end on-call processes and existing E2E workflows
• Participate in on-call rotation (one week every 4–5 weeks with 24/7/365 coverage)
• Manage monitoring, alerting, paging, and response solutions across our platform
• Report on uptime, availability, and performance metrics across our product suite
• Write post-mortems for both internal and external consumption
• Represent SRE & DRE on enterprise sales calls with tier-one financial institutions
• Define SLAs and SLOs in collaboration with product, sales, and customer service teams
• Embed DRE practices directly within engineering teams
