Test Engineer - Webhook Testing

About the Role

We are seeking a detail-oriented Test Engineer specializing in webhook automation to join emergence's quality assurance team. In this role, you will be responsible for testing and validating webhook functionality within our hiring platform infrastructure. You'll work closely with our engineering team to ensure reliable, secure, and efficient webhook integrations that power our recruitment solutions.

Key Responsibilities

• Design and execute comprehensive test plans for webhook automation across the hiring platform
• Develop and maintain automated test scripts to validate webhook delivery, payload integrity, and error handling
• Identify, document, and track defects in webhook functionality and integration points
• Collaborate with backend engineers to understand webhook architecture and integration requirements
• Test webhook authentication, authorization, and security protocols
• Validate webhook retry mechanisms, timeout handling, and failure scenarios
• Create detailed test reports and quality metrics for stakeholder review
• Participate in continuous improvement initiatives to enhance testing coverage and efficiency

Required Qualifications

• Proven experience testing API integrations and webhook systems
• Strong understanding of HTTP protocols, REST APIs, and event-driven architecture
• Experience with automated testing frameworks and tools
• Solid grasp of JSON payloads and data validation
• Familiarity with test management and bug tracking systems
• Excellent attention to detail and problem-solving skills
• Ability to work independently in a remote environment with strong communication skills

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with webhook testing platforms or services
• Knowledge of hiring platform workflows and recruitment technology
• Background in load and performance testing
• Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices
• Experience with SQL or database testing
