About the Role

Calendly is seeking a hands-on Engineering Manager to lead our Growth and Monetization team. This is an exceptional opportunity to blend strong people leadership with technical execution, driving product innovation for a platform trusted by millions worldwide. You'll partner closely with the Director of Engineering to build a best-in-class scheduling experience, empowering users to host exceptional meetings while delivering the smoothest booking experience in the industry.

As an Engineering Manager at Calendly, you'll mentor and develop some of the brightest engineering talent in the world. This role offers the chance to work on impactful technology that shapes how millions of people schedule meetings globally—from local businesses to our largest enterprise customers.

What You'll Do Day-to-Day

  • Hire and onboard engineers to build out new and existing squads, with full oversight of all team members
  • Coach, mentor, and develop engineering team members through their career growth journey
  • Ensure career development, satisfaction, and productivity of your engineering team
  • Identify future technical needs and create strategic plans to address them before they become critical
  • Drive adoption of AI-enabled engineering practices to improve team productivity, experimentation velocity, and product delivery
  • Provide constructive feedback and guidance to help the team and company continuously grow and scale
  • Solve complex problems impacting millions of users across diverse customer segments
  • Partner with engineering, product, and design teams to make Calendly simpler, more powerful, and more intuitive
  • Drive high-impact initiatives that reimagine how the world meets and collaborates

Who You Are

  • 5+ years of experience managing a team of Software Engineers
  • 10+ years of overall software development experience
  • Strong technical background in Ruby on Rails (preferred), or proficiency in Python, Go, PHP, or similar languages
  • Proven ability to bring clarity to ambiguous situations and work autonomously to research and uncover solutions
  • Track record of building high-performing, motivated engineering teams
  • Curiosity about how emerging AI technologies are reshaping software development and customer experiences
  • Product-driven mindset with understanding of how technical decisions impact user experience
  • Experience scaling teams and products as they grow
  • Strong communication skills and ability to collaborate effectively across functions
