We are seeking an exceptional Senior Data Engineer to design, build, and own scalable data systems that power analytics, decision-making, and customer outcomes. In this role, you will translate complex business needs into reliable data pipelines and models, drive system architecture design at the team level, and maintain the highest standards for data quality and performance. You will mentor fellow engineers, collaborate across departments, and deliver data solutions that are resilient, maintainable, and directly aligned with business impact.
Geographic Focus
Please note: We are specifically targeting individuals based in Brazil, Colombia, and Mexico for this role. We are not currently accepting applications from candidates in the United States.
Key Responsibilities
- Own delivery of production-grade data systems. Design, build, and maintain resilient data pipelines and platforms that support analytics, machine learning, and business operations. Your work will be reliable at scale and built with long-term maintainability as a core principle.
- Drive system design for data architecture. Take ownership of data model design, pipeline architecture, and storage solutions for team-level systems. You will create scalable, flexible technical foundations that reduce complexity, improve system performance, and streamline onboarding for team members.
- Ensure high standards for code quality and reliability. Write well-tested, maintainable code and enforce best practices across all data workflows. You will proactively identify and prevent issues such as data quality failures, pipeline fragility, and technical debt accumulation.
- Translate business needs into technical solutions. Connect data engineering decisions directly to business outcomes. You understand how data flows through the organization and ensure systems deliver accurate, timely, and actionable insights to stakeholders.
- Collaborate across engineering, product, and data teams. Work closely with cross-functional stakeholders to define requirements, prioritize initiatives, and deliver solutions aligned with business goals. You will actively participate in design discussions and influence implementation decisions.
- Mentor and develop team members. Share knowledge with other engineers, provide technical guidance, and contribute to team growth and capability development in data engineering practices.
- Optimize data performance and cost. Implement strategies to improve query performance, reduce infrastructure costs, and optimize resource utilization across data systems.
