The Role: Treasury Manager

We are seeking a highly capable and hands-on Treasury Manager to build and scale our treasury function from the ground up. This is a unique opportunity to join a rapidly evolving business where both traditional fiat and digital asset treasury operations are increasingly critical to success. You will have the autonomy and resources to establish institutional-grade treasury practices across a dynamic, multi-venture ecosystem.

Your Mission

You will build a reliable and scalable treasury function that gives Improbable complete visibility and control over its fiat and digital asset positions. Within the first year, you will establish clear policies and processes, ensure institutional-grade custody and risk management for digital assets, and implement effective liquidity, FX, and hedging frameworks. Treasury operations will run smoothly and transparently, enabling better capital allocation, proactive risk management, and confident support of both day-to-day operations and strategic initiatives.

What You'll Be Doing

• Lay the foundation for Improbable's treasury function by developing core policies, controls, and an operating framework that ensures strong governance across fiat and digital assets
• Oversee liquidity and uphold runway targets through effective forecasting across Improbable and its ventures, ensuring coverage for both operational and strategic needs
• Lead investment and capital allocation, optimising surplus fiat and digital asset deployment, assessing options and informing treasury-driven planning and decision-making
• Provide oversight of digital asset positions and maintain exposure and risk in line with strategy
• Manage USD/GBP exposure and design appropriate hedging strategies to protect the organisation
• Develop and execute crypto risk-management and hedging approaches for relevant digital assets
• Own relationships with banks, custodians, and digital asset providers, leading the selection and implementation of treasury tools that improve visibility and automation
• Support the finance team with reporting, analysis, and strategic insights on treasury matters
• Build scalable processes and documentation that enable the treasury function to grow with the organisation

Who You Are

You bring significant experience in treasury management, with a proven track record building treasury functions in growth-stage or complex organisations. You have deep expertise in both fiat treasury operations and digital asset management. You are comfortable with ambiguity, proactive in identifying and solving problems, and skilled at communicating complex financial concepts to non-financial stakeholders. Your combination of technical treasury knowledge, strategic thinking, and operational excellence makes you the ideal candidate to establish treasury best practices at Improbable.
