About the Role
Inetum2 is seeking an experienced Middleware Expert to join our remote team. This is a strategic position for a seasoned professional who combines deep technical expertise with the ability to architect, implement, and optimize complex middleware solutions across enterprise environments.
As a Middleware Expert, you will be responsible for designing and maintaining robust integration platforms that connect disparate systems, ensuring seamless data flow and system interoperability. Your role will span multiple domains including enterprise application integration, API management, message queuing, and service-oriented architecture.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and deploy enterprise middleware solutions that support business-critical operations
- Architect integration patterns and recommend optimal middleware technologies for diverse use cases
- Manage and optimize middleware infrastructure to ensure high availability, performance, and security
- Conduct code reviews, technical assessments, and provide mentorship to junior team members
- Troubleshoot complex integration issues and implement solutions in production environments
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams including DevOps, Security, and Application teams
- Document technical specifications, architecture decisions, and best practices
- Stay current with emerging middleware technologies and industry standards
- Lead technical discussions and present solutions to stakeholders
- Implement monitoring and alerting strategies for middleware systems
Required Qualifications
- 7+ years of professional experience in middleware development and architecture
- Deep expertise in one or more middleware platforms (e.g., Apache Kafka, RabbitMQ, AWS SQS, Azure Service Bus, MuleSoft, WSO2, or similar)
- Strong proficiency in Java, Python, or similar enterprise programming languages
- Demonstrated experience with microservices architecture and distributed systems
- Solid understanding of REST APIs, SOAP, and asynchronous messaging patterns
- Experience with containerization technologies (Docker, Kubernetes) and cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP)
- Knowledge of security protocols, authentication mechanisms (OAuth, JWT), and encryption standards
- Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work independently in a remote environment
- Excellent communication skills and ability to explain complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with enterprise service buses (ESB) and integration platforms
- Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices
- Knowledge of data transformation tools and ETL processes
- Experience in financial services, healthcare, or other highly regulated industries
- Relevant certifications (AWS Solutions Architect, Kubernetes Administrator, etc.)
- Open-source contribution history in integration or middleware projects
