The Role

We're seeking an experienced Engineering Manager to lead our AI Cloud Core Platform team of approximately 6 engineers. You'll have end-to-end ownership of Cloud Platform and governance capabilities, driving execution of strategic roadmap features including cluster lifecycle automation. This is a leadership position where you'll balance rapid feature delivery with longer-term investments in scalability, observability, and platform design.

What You'll Do

• Lead the AI Cloud Core Platform team (~6 engineers) with full accountability for cloud platform and governance capabilities
• Drive execution of roadmap features, including cluster lifecycle automation and enterprise-focused functionality
• Partner closely with Product and Design teams to ensure user experience matches enterprise customer needs
• Balance rapid feature delivery with strategic investments in scalability, observability, and platform architecture
• Hire, mentor, and develop engineering talent while providing career guidance and constructive feedback
• Collaborate across Lambda teams (Control Plane, Billing, Platform) to ensure integrated, seamless delivery
• Foster a culture of high performance, documentation, humility, curiosity, and cross-team collaboration
• Lead with a product-focused mindset, prioritizing customer needs alongside feature velocity, reliability, and security
• Champion data-driven decision-making and sustainable, empathetic engineering practices

About You

• 5+ years of full-time management experience at high-growth technology companies
• 10+ years of software engineering experience, with proven expertise in large-scale distributed systems and backend infrastructure
• Demonstrated success leading engineering teams working on mission-critical, high-performance systems
• Track record of leading teams delivering enterprise features or governance platforms at scale
• Exceptional leadership skills: lead by trust, build empathy with reports and peers, maintain sustainable velocity
• Proven ability to manage long-term strategic projects while handling urgent, short-term priorities and incident response
• Strong communication and collaboration capabilities across technical and non-technical stakeholders

Work Location

This position requires 4 days per week in-office at our San Francisco office, with Tuesday designated as the work-from-home day. Remote flexibility is limited to one day per week.
