The Role: iOS Engineer
As an iOS Engineer at Matters Lab, you will establish and lead our iOS product line. This is a unique opportunity to shape Matters Lab's mobile strategy and technology choices across the iOS ecosystem. You'll leverage our five years of accumulated experience to create novel reading and social experiences on mobile devices.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Architecting and developing our iOS application from the ground up
- Making critical technology decisions for the iOS platform
- Contributing to product strategy for mobile experiences
- Building features that empower creators and foster community engagement
- Implementing decentralized network integration on mobile platforms
- Ensuring high performance and reliability for millions of users
- Collaborating with distributed team members across global time zones
About You
We're looking for engineers who are passionate about their craft and committed to creating technology that improves the world. You should have:
- Strong iOS development fundamentals – Swift, UIKit/SwiftUI, and modern iOS architectures
- Problem-solving mindset – ability to navigate complex technical challenges
- Initiative and ownership – comfort working independently in a distributed team
- Curiosity about decentralized systems – though Web3 experience is not required; we value learning ability
- User-focused thinking – understanding how technical decisions impact creator and reader experiences
We don't care where you live—our team is distributed worldwide. We don't require extensive Web3 experience; fundamental engineering skills and thoughtful problem-solving matter more.
