About This Role

We are seeking a Senior Backend Engineer to join our remote team in the United States. As a Senior Backend Engineer at Openly, you'll play a critical role in building and scaling the technology infrastructure that powers our innovative insurance platform. You'll work on systems that directly impact customer experience, from policy management to claims processing and customer support.

What You'll Do

• Design, develop, and maintain scalable backend systems that support Openly's core insurance platform
• Collaborate with product, frontend, data science, and operations teams to deliver robust solutions
• Write clean, maintainable code and establish best practices for backend development
• Optimize system performance, reliability, and security across production environments
• Participate in code reviews and mentor junior engineers
• Architect solutions for data-intensive operations including policy management, underwriting, and claims processing
• Contribute to technical strategy and long-term infrastructure planning
