The Role: Senior Manager, Strategic Initiatives

As Senior Manager of Strategic Initiatives at Openly, you will drive forward-thinking strategies that accelerate company growth and operational excellence. In this role, you will be responsible for identifying, evaluating, and executing strategic initiatives that align with Openly's vision of modernizing the insurance landscape. You will collaborate across departments—from product and engineering to marketing and customer service—to develop and implement initiatives that drive measurable business results.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the identification and evaluation of strategic opportunities that support company growth and competitive differentiation
  • Develop comprehensive business cases and implementation roadmaps for approved initiatives
  • Oversee cross-functional project teams to ensure successful execution of strategic projects
  • Monitor key performance indicators and adjust strategies based on market conditions and company priorities
  • Partner with senior leadership to align initiatives with overall company objectives and resource constraints
  • Drive innovation by exploring emerging technologies, market trends, and business models relevant to insurance technology
  • Communicate progress, insights, and recommendations to executive leadership and stakeholders

What We're Looking For

  • 7+ years of experience in strategic planning, business development, operations, or consulting roles
  • Proven track record of successfully identifying, planning, and executing business initiatives
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with ability to synthesize complex information
  • Excellent cross-functional leadership and stakeholder management abilities
  • Experience in the insurance, fintech, or related regulated industries preferred
  • Comfort with ambiguity and ability to thrive in a rapidly evolving startup environment
  • Exceptional communication skills, both written and verbal
  • MBA or equivalent advanced business experience preferred
