Job Description

About Emergence

Emergence is a thematic holding company backed by the Pritzker Organization, focused exclusively on acquiring and scaling category-defining software businesses. We invest in focused portfolios supported by specialized operating groups with deep domain expertise and proven playbooks. Emergence combines operational rigor with a growth equity mindset, driving sustainable ARR growth, profitability improvements, and industry-leading customer outcomes across our portfolio.

The Mission

As a Product Manager at Emergence, you'll build product strategy and execution across portfolio companies by translating market needs into shipped products that drive measurable business outcomes. This is a unique opportunity to impact multiple SaaS businesses simultaneously, working with portfolio companies in diverse verticals while leveraging centralized product expertise and best practices.

What You'll Do

  • Conduct Discovery & Validation: Work across 2-3 portfolio companies to identify customer needs, uncover market gaps, and unearth high-impact product opportunities through structured research and customer engagement.

  • Build Product Roadmaps: Translate strategic priorities into detailed, sequenced product roadmaps with clear success metrics, resource requirements, and timelines that align with business objectives.

  • Define & Track Metrics: Establish leading and lagging indicators for shipped features, conduct rigorous post-launch analysis, and validate business impact through data-driven decision making.

  • Prototype & Validate: Develop wireframes, interactive prototypes, and conduct user interviews to validate product concepts before engineering investment, reducing risk and accelerating time-to-market.

  • Map User Journeys: Create end-to-end user journey maps for core workflows, identify friction points, automation opportunities, and integration capabilities that enhance customer value.

  • Partner on Technical Strategy: Collaborate closely with engineering teams to evaluate build vs. buy decisions, assess technical feasibility, and ensure long-term maintainability of product solutions.

What We're Looking For

Must-Have Skills & Experience:

  • Deep understanding of APIs, webhooks, and third-party integrations—you can discuss technical constraints with engineering teams directly and evaluate architectural trade-offs.

  • Proven ability to conduct user interviews, validate assumptions with quantitative and qualitative data, and translate customer feedback into actionable product requirements.

  • Hands-on proficiency with prototyping tools such as Figma or Framer to mock up user flows, test interactions, and communicate design intent before development.

  • Knowledge of no-code automation tools, LLMs, and AI capabilities—understand what these technologies can and cannot do, and know when to build vs. integrate solutions.

  • Experience defining success criteria upfront and adjusting product decisions based on post-launch performance data and market feedback.

  • Ability to communicate complex product concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders, translating strategy into implementation roadmaps.

Nice-to-Have Experience:

  • Previous experience at a PE-backed firm, portfolio company, or scaling-stage SaaS company where you've navigated portfolio dynamics or multi-product strategy.

  • Background in B2B SaaS product management with exposure to enterprise or mid-market customer bases and sales-driven GTM strategies.

  • Experience working with integration-heavy products, workflow automation platforms, or businesses built on APIs and third-party ecosystems.

Why Join Emergence

This role offers exceptional exposure across multiple SaaS businesses, allowing you to apply product best practices at scale while learning from diverse market segments and business models. You'll work alongside experienced operators, access to institutional resources, and the opportunity to directly impact ARR growth and customer success metrics across a portfolio. Remote flexibility combined with meaningful product ownership makes this ideal for ambitious product leaders seeking to broaden their impact.
