Position Overview
We are seeking a Senior Appian Developer for a full-time, remote position supporting the Department of Labor (DOL) Workforce Integrated Performance System (WIPS). This is a future opportunity listed as a proposal, offering the chance to work on critical federal workforce initiatives from anywhere in the USA.
As a Senior Appian Developer, you will play a key role in designing, developing, and maintaining enterprise applications on the Appian platform. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to translate business requirements into robust technical solutions that support federal workforce management systems. This position offers the opportunity to work on meaningful projects that directly impact workforce development and labor management at the national level.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and maintain enterprise applications using the Appian low-code platform
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams including business analysts, stakeholders, and system architects to implement comprehensive business solutions within Appian environments
- Support data integration initiatives, workflow automation, and system enhancements across federal workforce platforms
- Work directly with government stakeholders to gather technical and functional requirements, translating them into scalable technical solutions
- Ensure data accuracy, validation, and robust exception handling within critical system processes
- Contribute to continuous system improvements aligned with federal workforce program requirements and Department of Labor standards
- Develop and maintain interfaces for data integration and system connectivity
- Participate in code reviews, testing, and quality assurance processes to maintain system reliability
Required Qualifications
- Demonstrated hands-on experience developing applications with the Appian platform
- Knowledge of or direct experience supporting the Workforce Integrated Performance System (WIPS)
- Strong understanding of data integration techniques and workflow automation best practices
- Professional experience supporting federal or government workforce systems
- Proficiency in translating business requirements into technical Appian solutions
- Strong communication skills for collaboration with government stakeholders
Preferred Qualifications
- Demonstrated experience with Department of Labor (DOL) reporting systems and ETA (Employment and Training Administration) reporting processes
- Proven ability to aggregate and transform raw data into meaningful, actionable reports and dashboards
- Experience developing interfaces for data validation and exception handling in federal systems
- Advanced analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to troubleshoot complex system issues
- Familiarity with federal compliance requirements and government IT standards
- Experience with government contracting environments and federal project methodologies
