About the Role
As a Senior Applied Scientist at SoftwareMind, you will be responsible for designing, developing, and implementing advanced machine learning solutions and AI-driven systems. Key Responsibilities
- Design and develop machine learning models and algorithms for production environments
- Conduct research on emerging AI technologies and evaluate their applicability to client challenges
- Collaborate with engineering teams to implement scalable, efficient solutions
- Analyze complex datasets, identify patterns, and derive actionable insights
- Document technical approaches, methodologies, and findings for knowledge sharing
- Participate in code reviews and maintain high standards of code quality
- Work with stakeholders to understand business requirements and translate them into technical specifications
- Mentor and support junior scientists and engineers on your team
- Stay current with latest developments in machine learning, deep learning, and AI
- Present findings and recommendations to technical and non-technical audiences
Required Qualifications
- Advanced degree (Master's or PhD) in Computer Science, Mathematics, Statistics, Physics, or related field
- 5+ years of professional experience in machine learning, data science, or applied AI
- Strong proficiency in Python and/or C++ for scientific computing
- Demonstrated expertise with machine learning frameworks (TensorFlow, PyTorch, Scikit-learn, etc.)
- Solid understanding of statistical methods, linear algebra, and optimization techniques
- Experience deploying and maintaining machine learning models in production environments
- Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to think algorithmically
- Strong communication skills with ability to explain complex concepts clearly
- Experience with version control systems (Git) and collaborative development practices
- Ability to work independently and manage time effectively in a remote environment
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with deep learning and neural networks
- Knowledge of cloud platforms (AWS, Google Cloud, Azure) and their ML services
- Familiarity with distributed computing frameworks (Spark, Hadoop)
- Experience with data visualization and business intelligence tools
- Publications or contributions to open-source machine learning projects
- Background in natural language processing, computer vision, or reinforcement learning
