FusionConsulting is seeking an experienced Senior IT Project Manager specializing in Infrastructure and Operational Technology (OT) Security to lead critical projects within the pharmaceutical industry. As a Senior IT Project Manager, you will oversee complex infrastructure initiatives with a strong focus on operational technology security—a critical area within pharmaceutical manufacturing and operations. You'll work with cross-functional teams to design, implement, and optimize IT systems that meet stringent regulatory requirements including GxP compliance, FDA standards, and industry best practices.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead end-to-end IT infrastructure projects from planning through implementation and post-deployment support
- Manage operational technology (OT) security initiatives to protect pharmaceutical manufacturing systems and critical processes
- Develop comprehensive project plans, timelines, budgets, and resource allocation strategies
- Coordinate with stakeholders across IT, operations, quality assurance, and regulatory affairs to ensure alignment on project goals
- Implement and monitor project governance frameworks, risk management protocols, and change control procedures
- Ensure all projects comply with pharmaceutical regulatory requirements and industry standards (FDA, GMP, HIPAA)
- Identify technical risks related to OT security and develop mitigation strategies
- Manage vendor relationships and coordinate with external consultants and contractors
- Track project performance metrics, KPIs, and deliver regular status reports to executive leadership
- Drive process improvements and implement lessons learned across the organization
- Support digital transformation and infrastructure modernization initiatives
Required Qualifications
- 8+ years of IT project management experience, with a minimum of 3 years focused on infrastructure or OT security projects
- Proven experience managing complex projects in regulated industries, preferably pharmaceutical, biotech, or medical device manufacturing
- Strong understanding of operational technology (OT) security concepts, industrial control systems (ICS), and SCADA systems
- Knowledge of pharmaceutical regulatory frameworks including FDA requirements, GxP, and GMP standards
- Project Management Professional (PMP) certification or equivalent; additional certifications in security (CISSP, CCSK) preferred
- Demonstrated experience with enterprise infrastructure technologies (servers, networking, cloud platforms, storage)
- Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills across technical and non-technical audiences
- Strong problem-solving abilities with a strategic and detail-oriented mindset
- Experience with project management methodologies (Waterfall, Agile, Hybrid)
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with GxP-regulated environments and quality systems
- Knowledge of cybersecurity frameworks (NIST, IEC 62443)
- Familiarity with IT service management (ITSM) and ITIL practices
- Background in pharmaceutical manufacturing operations or process engineering
- Experience with enterprise resource planning (ERP) implementations
