Position Overview

FusionConsulting is seeking an experienced Senior IT Project Manager to lead critical infrastructure and operational technology (OT) security initiatives within the pharmaceutical industry. This is a fully remote role ideal for seasoned project management professionals with deep expertise in IT infrastructure, cybersecurity compliance, and pharma-specific regulatory requirements.

As a Senior IT Project Manager, you will drive complex, multi-stakeholder projects that safeguard pharmaceutical manufacturing environments, ensure regulatory compliance, and modernize critical IT infrastructure. This role combines strategic project leadership with hands-on technical knowledge of OT security frameworks, making it perfect for someone who bridges business objectives with technical excellence.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead end-to-end IT and OT security infrastructure projects from initiation through deployment and post-implementation support
• Manage cross-functional teams including IT, security, operations, and compliance stakeholders
• Develop comprehensive project plans, timelines, budgets, and resource allocation strategies aligned with pharmaceutical manufacturing standards
• Ensure all projects comply with FDA regulations, HIPAA, 21 CFR Part 11, and industry-specific security frameworks
• Conduct risk assessments and mitigation planning for OT security vulnerabilities in manufacturing environments
• Oversee vendor management, procurement, and third-party integrations for infrastructure components
• Monitor project KPIs, budgets, and schedules; provide regular stakeholder reporting and executive presentations
• Drive organizational change management and staff training on new security protocols and systems
• Collaborate with IT security teams to implement zero-trust architecture and network segmentation strategies
• Identify and resolve project roadblocks, escalation issues, and scope creep proactively

Required Qualifications

• 7+ years of project management experience, with at least 4 years managing IT infrastructure or OT security projects
• Proven expertise in pharmaceutical, biotech, or highly regulated manufacturing environments
• Strong knowledge of operational technology (OT) security, SCADA systems, and industrial control systems (ICS)
• Certification in project management (PMP, PRINCE2, or equivalent) strongly preferred
• Experience with IT security frameworks (NIST Cybersecurity Framework, ISO 27001, CIS Controls)
• Deep understanding of pharma compliance standards: FDA 21 CFR Part 11, HIPAA, GxP principles
• Demonstrated ability to manage budgets of $500K–$5M+ and complex multi-year initiatives
• Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills across C-suite, technical teams, and regulatory bodies
• Proficiency with project management tools (Jira, Monday.com, MS Project, or similar)
• Strong problem-solving capabilities and ability to work independently in a remote environment

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with cloud infrastructure transitions (AWS, Azure, or GCP) in regulated environments
• Knowledge of cybersecurity incident response and business continuity planning
• Background in lean/six sigma or continuous improvement methodologies
• Experience with ERP system implementations or digital transformation initiatives
• Familiarity with secure software development lifecycle (SDLC) and DevSecOps practices
