Social Discovery Ventures is seeking an experienced and strategic Executive Search Team Lead to build, mentor, and lead a high-performing recruitment team focused on identifying and placing top-tier executive talent across our portfolio companies and network.

This is a unique opportunity to take ownership of our executive search function, combining hands-on recruiting expertise with team leadership and strategic business development. You'll work with C-suite executives, boards, and growing companies to understand their most critical hiring needs and deliver exceptional talent solutions.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and mentor a team of executive search professionals, fostering a culture of excellence, accountability, and continuous improvement
  • Develop and execute executive search strategies aligned with company objectives and client needs
  • Build and maintain relationships with senior-level candidates, industry leaders, and key stakeholders
  • Manage end-to-end recruitment processes for executive-level positions including sourcing, vetting, interviewing, and placement
  • Identify market trends, competitive intelligence, and talent landscape insights to inform recruitment strategy
  • Collaborate with portfolio company leadership to understand organizational needs and cultural fit requirements
  • Track performance metrics, recruitment KPIs, and deliver regular reporting to leadership
  • Contribute to business development by identifying new executive search opportunities and expanding our client base
  • Establish best practices, processes, and tools to optimize team efficiency and candidate experience

Required Qualifications

  • 7+ years of executive search, recruitment, or talent acquisition experience
  • Proven track record of successfully placing C-level and senior management professionals
  • 2+ years of team leadership or management experience
  • Strong understanding of executive compensation, benefits, and contract negotiation
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and relationship-building skills
  • Ability to work independently while managing multiple concurrent searches
  • Comfort with remote work and virtual collaboration tools
  • Strong organizational and analytical capabilities

Preferred Qualifications

  • Background in venture capital, private equity, or portfolio company operations
  • Experience recruiting for technology, SaaS, or growth-stage companies
  • Familiarity with LinkedIn Recruiter, ATS systems, and recruitment technology platforms
  • MBA or advanced business degree
