Senior AI Engineer

Software Mind is seeking a talented and experienced Senior AI Engineer to join our growing team on a remote basis. As a Senior AI Engineer, you will take on a leadership role in designing, developing, and deploying AI-powered applications that drive meaningful business impact for our clients globally.

In this position, you will collaborate with cross-functional teams including data scientists, software architects, and product managers to architect scalable AI solutions. You will be responsible for translating complex business requirements into robust technical implementations, mentoring junior engineers, and establishing best practices for AI/ML development within our organization.

Key Responsibilities

• Design and develop advanced AI and machine learning models using industry-leading frameworks and tools
• Lead the end-to-end development lifecycle of AI projects, from initial concept through production deployment
• Architect scalable solutions that can handle large-scale data processing and real-time inference requirements
• Collaborate with stakeholders to understand business objectives and translate them into technical specifications
• Conduct code reviews and mentor junior engineers, fostering a culture of continuous learning and technical excellence
• Implement MLOps best practices including model versioning, monitoring, and continuous integration/deployment pipelines
• Optimize model performance through experimentation, hyperparameter tuning, and advanced optimization techniques
• Stay current with emerging AI/ML trends, technologies, and methodologies
• Contribute to technical documentation and knowledge sharing within the team
• Partner with DevOps and infrastructure teams to ensure AI systems are reliable, secure, and performant

Required Qualifications

• 5+ years of professional experience in software engineering with at least 3+ years specifically focused on AI/ML development
• Strong proficiency in Python and at least one other programming language (Java, C++, Go, or similar)
• Demonstrated expertise with machine learning frameworks such as TensorFlow, PyTorch, or scikit-learn
• Solid understanding of data structures, algorithms, and software design patterns
• Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Google Cloud, or Azure) and containerization technologies (Docker, Kubernetes)
• Familiarity with database technologies including both SQL and NoSQL solutions
• Strong problem-solving abilities and analytical thinking skills
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, or related field (or equivalent professional experience)

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with natural language processing (NLP) or computer vision applications
• Knowledge of advanced techniques including deep learning, reinforcement learning, or generative AI
• Exposure to big data technologies such as Spark, Hadoop, or distributed computing frameworks
• Experience with MLOps tools and platforms (MLflow, Kubeflow, SageMaker)
• Contributions to open-source AI/ML projects
• Published research or technical articles in AI/ML domains
• Master's degree in Computer Science, AI, or related field
