Senior Applied Scientist – Remote Position
SoftwareMind is seeking an experienced Senior Applied Scientist to join our global team in a fully remote capacity. About the Role
As a Senior Applied Scientist at SoftwareMind, you will be responsible for designing, developing, and deploying machine learning solutions that solve complex real-world problems. You will work collaboratively with cross-functional teams including software engineers, product managers, and domain experts to translate business requirements into sophisticated AI and ML systems.
Your key responsibilities will include:
- Conducting advanced research and experimentation to develop novel machine learning approaches and algorithms
- Designing and implementing scalable machine learning pipelines and production systems
- Analyzing large datasets to identify patterns, trends, and actionable insights
- Collaborating with engineering teams to integrate machine learning models into production environments
- Mentoring junior data scientists and engineers on best practices and methodologies
- Presenting findings and recommendations to stakeholders and technical leadership
- Staying current with the latest advancements in AI, machine learning, and data science
- Contributing to technical documentation and knowledge sharing across the organization
Required Qualifications
To succeed in this role, you should have:
- Advanced degree (Master's or PhD) in Computer Science, Mathematics, Statistics, Physics, or a related quantitative field
- 5+ years of professional experience in machine learning, data science, or a related field
- Strong programming skills in Python, Java, Scala, or C++ with demonstrated ability to write production-quality code
- Expertise in machine learning frameworks such as TensorFlow, PyTorch, scikit-learn, or similar
- Solid understanding of statistical methods and experimental design
- Experience with big data technologies such as Spark, Hadoop, or cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, Azure)
- Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to think critically about complex challenges
- Strong communication abilities with capacity to explain technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders
- Proven track record of successfully delivering machine learning projects from conception to production
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with deep learning and neural networks
- Familiarity with NLP (Natural Language Processing) or computer vision applications
- Knowledge of cloud infrastructure and containerization (Docker, Kubernetes)
- Experience with MLOps and model deployment pipelines
- Publications or contributions to open-source machine learning projects
- Experience in agile development environments
