About the Role
We are seeking an experienced and motivated Team Lead for Back End Engineering to join our growing engineering organization. In this leadership position, you will guide a talented team of back-end developers, fostering a culture of technical excellence, collaboration, and continuous improvement. Key Responsibilities
- Lead, mentor, and develop a team of back-end engineers, providing technical guidance and career growth opportunities
- Conduct code reviews, establish best practices, and ensure code quality standards across the team
- Participate actively in architectural decisions and technical design reviews
- Collaborate with product managers, front-end teams, and other stakeholders to deliver scalable backend solutions
- Monitor team performance, identify skill gaps, and create development plans for team members
- Manage project timelines, resource allocation, and sprint planning
- Contribute to hiring and recruitment efforts to build and strengthen the engineering team
- Foster a positive, inclusive team culture that encourages innovation and knowledge sharing
- Stay current with industry trends and emerging technologies in back-end development
Required Qualifications
- 5+ years of professional back-end software development experience
- 2+ years of experience in a team lead or similar technical leadership role
- Strong proficiency in one or more back-end programming languages (Java, Python, C#, Go, Node.js, or similar)
- Solid understanding of database design, API development, and system architecture
- Experience with version control systems (Git) and CI/CD pipelines
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Proven ability to mentor and develop junior engineers
- Experience with Agile/Scrum methodologies
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, Google Cloud)
- Knowledge of containerization and orchestration (Docker, Kubernetes)
- Familiarity with microservices architecture
- Experience with modern databases (PostgreSQL, MongoDB, etc.)
- Background in mentoring and developing engineering talent
- Exposure to DevOps practices and infrastructure-as-code
