About the Product Engineering Team

The Product Engineering Team ensures successful implementation and operation of H's Agents and Inference platforms, including ancillary services. This team serves the Research department while building the foundation for agentic products and services delivered to market. As a Staff Engineer, you'll lead technical vision and mentor engineers across multiple teams.

Key Responsibilities

• Define and lead technical architecture, design, and long-term engineering roadmap for core platforms
• Develop and maintain complex, high-performance, and scalable distributed systems
• Mentor and guide engineers across multiple teams, fostering technical excellence and growth
• Conduct thorough code and design reviews, ensuring quality and security best practices
• Collaborate with Research, Engineering, and cross-functional stakeholders to deliver impactful solutions
• Drive improvements in system reliability, scalability, and observability across platforms
• Establish and enforce engineering standards, tooling, and processes that elevate team capabilities
• Champion technical innovation and proactively address technical debt

Technical Requirements

• Proven track record in Staff Engineer or equivalent senior leadership role with demonstrable achievements
• 5+ years of professional experience in Python backend development (Flask, Django, FastAPI, or similar frameworks)
• Deep expertise in distributed systems and cloud computing, preferably AWS
• Demonstrated ability to design, build, and ship end-to-end solutions from concept to production
• Strong experience designing and building APIs (REST and/or GraphQL) with external service integrations
• Expertise managing both relational and non-relational databases
• Hands-on experience with message queueing systems (SQS, RabbitMQ, Kafka, etc.)
• Solid understanding of coding standards, architectural patterns, and test frameworks
• Deep expertise in instrumentation, observability, monitoring, and system reliability
