About the Role
As an Accounting Subject-Matter Expert, you will apply your academic and teaching expertise to advance xAI's next-generation artificial intelligence systems. In this position, you will contribute high-quality accounting analysis, explanations, and evaluations that support the training of AI models on complex accounting concepts. Working in close collaboration with technical and research teams, you will help shape new AI capabilities by evaluating sophisticated accounting scenarios and guiding how models reason through them.
You will draw on deep knowledge of financial reporting, consolidations, internal controls, and U.S. GAAP to identify and analyze challenging accounting problems comparable to upper-division or graduate-level coursework. Your input will directly influence how effectively AI systems interpret accounting standards and communicate sound accounting judgments. This role is well suited for faculty who thrive in intellectually dynamic environments and are comfortable engaging with evolving prompts, frameworks, and research objectives.
Key Responsibilities
- Use proprietary software applications to provide input and labels on defined projects
- Support and ensure the delivery of high-quality curated data for AI training
- Play a pivotal role in supporting and contributing to the training of new tasks, working closely with technical staff to ensure successful development and implementation of cutting-edge initiatives
- Interact with technical staff to help improve the design of efficient annotation tools
- Select problems from corporate accounting fields that align with your expertise
- Apply accounting theory with nuance and articulate reasoning clearly
- Adapt to iterative guidance and evolving research objectives, similar to refining course materials or responding to emerging accounting guidance
Required Qualifications: Advanced knowledge of accounting principles, U.S. GAAP, financial reporting standards, and complex accounting scenarios. Faculty experience or equivalent expertise in teaching accounting at upper-division or graduate level. Ability to communicate complex concepts clearly and work collaboratively with technical teams.
