About the Role
The American Institutes for Research (AIR) is seeking a Health Economist to conduct rigorous policy-related research and evaluation studies focused on domestic healthcare programs and innovative care delivery models. This position offers the opportunity to contribute meaningful evidence to shape healthcare policy and practice at the national level.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct policy-related research and evaluation studies on Medicare, Medicaid, and other public health insurance programs
- Analyze innovative delivery and payment models, including telehealth and health information technology implementations
- Evaluate rural hospital performance, aging services, and long-term care initiatives
- Assess health plan performance metrics and quality measurement frameworks
- Translate research findings into actionable insights for policymakers, payers, providers, and patients
- Support high-quality implementation of healthcare innovation initiatives
- Produce rigorous evidence on the effectiveness of new approaches to care and payment
