25 Resume Summary Examples That Get Interviews (By Role)

Recruiters often decide within seconds whether to read a resume closely. The summary at the top — sometimes called a professional summary or profile — is where that decision is made. A strong one tells the reader who you are, what you are good at and why you fit the role. A weak one wastes the most valuable space on the page with phrases like "results-driven professional seeking new challenges".
Below you will find a simple formula, 25 examples grouped by role and career stage, and tips for tailoring your summary to each application.
Resume summary vs objective
An objective describes what you want ("Seeking a role where I can grow"). A summary describes what you offer. Employers care far more about the second. The only time an objective-style line helps is when you are changing careers or starting out — and even then, it works best when combined with evidence.
The four-part formula
- Title and experience level — "Customer success manager with 6 years in B2B SaaS."
- Core skills or specialism — "Specialised in onboarding and renewals for mid-market accounts."
- One measurable achievement — "Raised net revenue retention from 98% to 112% in two years."
- What you are looking for (optional) — "Looking to build a CS function at a scaling startup."
Keep it to two to four lines, or around 40–70 words. Write in a neutral voice without "I" — it saves space and reads cleanly.
