What You'll Work On
- Lead cross-functional projects by defining and designing systems, building proof of concepts, and delivering new service functionality including APIs, data processing, and automation while collaborating with Product and Clients
- Backend and web development on the 9fin platform, focusing on backend services and web application tools
- Senior IC responsibilities: run code reviews, mentor developers, and provide leadership in research and experimentation with new technologies for feature and product development
- Improve the codebase through automation, refactoring, and documentation where most impactful
- Work across diverse domains: complex financial data modelling, access control business logic, environmental and emission data, ML/AI prediction service integration, data visualisation, and automation systems
- Cross-functional collaboration: work with financial, legal, and editorial colleagues to deliver high-quality information and feedback to engineering teams. Break down complex projects for non-technical audiences
- Developer velocity: leverage managed automated preview environments, feature flags, and well-maintained non-production environments to move quickly, gather feedback, and iterate
