About the Role

AIP Publishing, a leading publisher of physical sciences journals, is hiring an Associate Publisher or Publisher to drive strategic direction and growth across a prestigious portfolio of academic journals. You'll be the expert on journal performance, collaborating with editors, internal teams, and stakeholders to advance editorial quality, community engagement, and operational excellence.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and execute strategy for assigned journals, ensuring alignment with portfolio goals and key publishing metrics
• Monitor industry trends and conduct competitive analysis to inform journal positioning and development
• Guide editorial content strategy in collaboration with Editors, focusing on emerging research and community relevance
• Drive author, reviewer, and editor engagement through targeted outreach and retention strategies
• Serve as trusted editorial partner and primary liaison to Editors, addressing concerns with clarity and professionalism
• Manage editorial board lifecycles—recruitment, onboarding, renewals, and performance monitoring
• Contribute to product development and cross-functional process improvement initiatives
• Analyze journal performance data and champion scalable, data-driven reporting solutions
• Support editorial best practices and mentor junior team members
