Job Description
About Airbyte
Airbyte is the data and action layer for AI agents, providing fast, accurate, authenticated access to business data across hundreds of sources. Since 2020, we've raised $181M from leading investors including Benchmark, Accel, Altimeter, Coatue, and Y Combinator. We've grown from an open-source data movement standard to a production-grade platform powering thousands of companies globally.
Our mission: make data available and actionable to everyone, everywhere—now including AI agents.
The Role
Join the Data Replication team as an infrastructure and reliability engineer. You'll own the infrastructure underpinning a platform running over 3 million sync jobs weekly across multiple regions and clouds. You'll be equally comfortable in Terraform files, Kubernetes clusters, and postmortem documentation.
We expect engineers to actively use AI as a force multiplier—agentic tools to automate toil, augment incident response, and build smarter internal tooling. Trust, directness, and craftsmanship are core to how we work.
Key Responsibilities
- Own infrastructure underpinning the Data Replication platform—Kubernetes clusters, CI/CD pipelines, secrets management, networking, and cloud resource configuration across AWS and GCP
- Partner with product engineers to reliably integrate product features with infrastructure
- Maintain and enhance observability, alerting, and anomaly detection with LLM automation potential
- Enhance AI-augmented release and internal tooling: canary deployments, progressive rollouts, automated release qualification, and rollback automation
- Set the infrastructure bar for the team—build self-serve tooling, write runbooks, and coach engineers to own more of their stack
Requirements
- 7+ years in infrastructure, platform engineering, SRE, or DevOps
- Deep hands-on experience with Kubernetes, cloud platforms (AWS/GCP), and infrastructure-as-code (Terraform)
- Strong track record improving system reliability, reducing incident impact, and driving observability improvements
- Experience designing and maintaining CI/CD pipelines and deployment automation
- Proven ability to mentor and empower engineers through tooling and documentation
