About the Role
We're standing up a new Forward Deployed Engineering function at Alloy. As one of the first two engineers on this founding team, you'll be embedded with our largest enterprise customers, serving as their trusted technical partner. You'll own technical outcomes end-to-end—from architecture through deployment—while defining how this new function operates within our Engineering organization.
Key Responsibilities
- Architect and tune customer and channel-partner deployments end-to-end, including API integrations, third-party data integrations, SDKs, and latency optimization
- Write production code across our full stack: TypeScript, JavaScript (ES6/React), Python (Django), Node.js, PostgreSQL, OpenSearch, and AWS
- Serve as Alloy's credible technical voice with customer engineering leadership, making architectural decisions in real time
- Own the engineering track of quarterly business reviews (QBRs) for your accounts and serve in their on-call escalation path
- Transform deployments into reusable platform primitives and documentation to accelerate future implementations
What We're Looking For
- 5+ years of hands-on experience developing production-ready software with a proven track record of delivering robust, scalable solutions
- Experience in customer-facing technical roles such as Forward Deployed Engineering or solutions engineering with deep technical depth
- Strong proficiency across multiple programming languages and cloud platforms
- Ability to communicate complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders
- Passion for defining processes and best practices for a new team function
Work Environment
Hybrid role based in New York City. Alloy fosters collaboration through onsite presence three days per week for local employees.
