Job Description
About ALU
African Leadership University (ALU) develops ethical and entrepreneurial leaders to shape Africa's future. Through innovative curriculum, experiential learning, and a pan-African community, we empower students to become changemakers and problem-solvers.
About the Team
The Enrollment team is responsible for identifying, recruiting, and converting students across incoming cohorts. We are data-aware and results-driven, spanning admissions, financial aid, regional recruitment, and enrollment operations. As we scale across multiple programmes and geographies, data quality, reliable reporting, and market intelligence are central to decision-making and resource allocation.
About the Role
The Enrollment Operations & Process Lead designs how ALU's recruitment data is captured, qualified, and reported across the lead-to-enrollment journey. Reporting to the Enrollment Intelligence & Data Associate Director, this role sits at the intersection of process design and data systems—translating recruitment workflows into clear specifications for CRM and reporting tools.
This highly analytical role suits someone naturally curious about data and process breakdowns. You will dissect problems across the enrollment funnel, translate solutions into dashboards and tools, and work with the central data team on platform-level changes. The role requires strong data engineering and systems thinking, with judgment to distinguish quick interim fixes from structural solutions.
Key Responsibilities
Data & Process Design
- Map and design data structure, capture, and qualification across the recruitment funnel end-to-end
- Identify gaps in data flows and design fixes—process changes, new fields, or new tools
- Define and maintain qualification logic to ensure consistency across markets and teams
- Design the data model for assessing fee-paying capability at lead capture, using school data, funding signals, and engagement behaviour
- Design capture and tracking of future-intake and not-yet-eligible leads to prevent prospect loss
- Define qualification stages mapping to system fields, enabling migration from manual trackers to core systems
Systems & Infrastructure Building
- Translate process designs into clear specifications for system builds, collaborating with the central data team
- Build and maintain interim tools, trackers, and dashboards where needed faster than platform builds allow
- Apply strong data engineering judgment to distinguish quick fixes from structural solutions
- Maintain documentation of data architecture and dependencies to prevent knowledge silos
- Own data integrity checks across core systems and reporting tools before reaching leadership dashboards
Market & Applicant Intelligence
- Optimise high school data into intelligence on fee-paying likelihood, engagement history, and conversion patterns
- Build economic and demographic context into market views—affordability shifts, currency movement—to explain conversion and pricing sensitivity
- Build and maintain applicant pool intelligence, funnel behaviour, drop-off points, and conversion patterns by market, programme, and source
Reporting & Dashboards
- Own core enrollment dashboards and reporting, ensuring reliable qualified pipeline views
- Lead recurring pipeline and performance reporting with insight-driven commentary
- Maintain standardised reporting definitions and formats across markets and intakes with central data team
- Build views enabling year-on-year and cohort-level performance comparison
Collaboration
- Act as primary contact with the central data and transformation team for enrollment infrastructure needs
- Work closely with regional recruitment and admissions teams to ensure designs reflect ground-level reality
General
- Continuously identify opportunities to improve data quality, reporting, and process efficiency
- Stay current on data, systems, and market intelligence tools and practices
