Job Description

About Ando

Ando is building AI-native workforce infrastructure for the 80M hourly workers in the U.S. and hundreds of millions globally. Labor is the last broken supply chain. Ando is rebuilding forecasting, allocation, and professional identity from first principles with highly accurate AI-generated demand forecasts, allocation-first labor optimization, and a persistent labor graph capturing skills, reliability, availability, and performance across time and employers.

Ando is a Seed-stage company backed by Slow Ventures and experienced operators, live with real customers and entering a phase where architectural clarity, learning loops, and AI systems quality are foundational to long-term success.

About the Role

We're looking for a Frontend Engineer to take ownership of our React Native/Expo mobile app, with focus on the native layer — JSI, native modules, and the boundary between JavaScript and platform code. You'll work on surfaces employees rely on every shift: push notifications, offline-tolerant scheduling views, check-in/out, and chat. This is a startup role requiring someone who can take a loosely-defined problem, figure out the right approach with minimal hand-holding, and drive it to done.

What You'll Do

  • Build and maintain features in our Expo/React Native app, from UI down to native module integration
  • Write and debug JSI/TurboModule and native module code (iOS/Android) where Expo's managed APIs aren't sufficient
  • Use AI agents (Claude, MCP-based tooling) as core workflow for writing, debugging, and testing code
  • Own performance-sensitive flows — list rendering, animations, cold-start time — and profile/fix issues at the native bridge layer
  • Implement and harden push notifications (expo-notifications), deep linking, and background/foreground behavior
  • Manage Expo SDK upgrades and native dependency compatibility
  • Maintain EAS build and CI/CD workflows, including automated test pipelines in EAS Workflows
  • Write Jest/React Native Testing Library coverage for hooks, screens, and native module wrappers
  • Triage and resolve crash and stability issues surfaced through Sentry

Compensation Note

Editorial Market Estimate: This listing did not include employer-provided salary information. Based on market data for React Native engineers with native module expertise at seed-stage companies, we estimate $110,000–$160,000 USD annually. This is not an employer commitment and may vary significantly by experience, location, and contract terms. Verify directly with Ando Technologies.
