Power Electronics Engineer (Mid)

About the Role

Apex Technology is seeking a mid-level Power Electronics Engineer to design and optimize electrical power systems for commercial satellite buses. You'll work on a closely integrated team driving avionics, flight computer, and power system design from clean sheet concepts, informing coupled trades across vehicle architecture while pushing the limits of performance in the aerospace industry.

Responsibilities

• Design, analyze, and test DC-DC power converters for harsh space environments
• Conduct electrical power system and sub-system level design trades and develop requirements
• Define and perform electrical power system verification testing and analysis
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams of design, test, and production engineers on power electronics hardware
• Drive system and electrical architecture trades, component selection, design analysis, schematic capture, prototyping, and design documentation
• Provide technical leadership across the organization, manage program risk, and drive new technology introduction

Requirements

• U.S. Person status required (access to export-controlled data)
• 3+ years of spacecraft electronics experience
• Experience across multiple spacecraft programs
• Bachelor's degree in aerospace engineering or related field (Master's preferred)
• Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to communicate effectively across organizational levels
