AI Platform Engineer

The Role

As an AI Platform Engineer at Applied Compute, you'll build the products, interfaces, and tools that define how people interact with our agents. You'll own the full stack of our application platform, including the system that powers collaborative human-AI workspaces, backend workflows that orchestrate sandboxed agent sessions, and the SDK that gives engineers control and visibility over the entire agent development lifecycle.

You'll work closely with platform research engineers to integrate new capabilities like memory, context, and browser automation into polished user experiences, and with applied research engineers to build for customer deployments and drive upstream learnings back into the platform.

What You'll Do

• Own the full stack of our platform
• Integrate new platform capabilities including memory, context, and browser automation
• Design interfaces for interacting with agents: platform console, dashboards, resource management views, and observability UIs
• Build tools that allow subject matter experts to capture and communicate their workflows
• Develop the AC SDK for internal and customer-facing engineers building domain-specific agents and applications
• Build agent sandboxing UX and deployment surfaces for multi-environment operations

What We're Looking For

• Strong full-stack engineering skills with proven experience shipping production web applications
• Extremely creative and open to prototyping—you love demonstrating what's possible
• Deep user empathy: you think carefully about who the user is before building
• Experience with both real-time and asynchronous systems
• Ability to build and iterate on polished, functional applications quickly with high engineering craft
• Familiarity with LLM-powered applications and agent architectures

Strong Candidates Also Have

• Experience with reinforcement learning from human feedback or similar human-in-the-loop learning systems
• Background as a founder or early engineer at a zero-to-one company
• Published work or open-source contributions in AI/ML systems

Compensation: Base salary $190,000–$310,000 USD annually, plus meaningful equity in a fast-growing startup and comprehensive benefits package.
