Platform Security Engineer

The Role

As Platform Security Engineer at Applied Compute, you'll shape our security posture as we scale. We train custom models on our F500 customers' most sensitive assets—proprietary workflows, institutional knowledge, and production data—then deploy autonomous agents into those environments. Our customers depend on us being uncompromising about data handling, credentials, and execution boundaries. You'll partner with infrastructure, product, and applied research teams to make security a first-class concern from design through deployment, and pioneer AI-native defense using our own agent stack to detect, investigate, and pre-empt threats at machine speed.

What You'll Do

• Shape end-to-end platform security architecture, from data and credential handling to agent execution and customer deployments
• Lead threat modeling and secure design reviews; identify and prioritize risks, attack surfaces, and critical assumptions
• Drive offensive security program: continuously stress-test platform, agents, and pipelines against realistic adversaries
• Build tooling, automation, and detections that scale security across the company, including agent-based defensive systems
• Partner with engineers to instill secure-by-default practices and eliminate risk through better design
• Own security guarantees presented to enterprise customers and their CISOs
• Lead incident response: detection, containment, communication, and durable fixes
• Build security teams as the company grows

What We're Looking For

• 5+ years hands-on experience in platform security and cyber defense
• Exceptional ability to identify flaws others miss; instinctively ask "how would I break this?"
• Strong offensive security foundation; anticipate risk from adversary perspective, not just compliance
• Builder's mindset with experience shipping secure software to production
• Strong judgment to identify and prioritize the most critical security vulnerabilities
• Proven ability to reduce risk through secure design and implementation
