Job Description
About Aptura
Aptura is building the reinforcement learning data company that powers frontier model training globally. We combine deep expertise in finance with cutting-edge in-house tech to deliver tailored, domain-specific training data and feedback loops.
At work, we're building a high-performance, people-first culture. We move quickly, think ambitiously, and set a high bar for ourselves, all while staying open, collaborative, and genuinely enjoyable to work with. The best ideas here win regardless of who they come from, teams sit close to leadership, and every voice has a say in what comes next.
The Opportunity
In this 3-month internship, you will apply your knowledge to improve AI reasoning across complex financial workflows. You will help develop, evaluate, and refine high-quality training data that enables AI models to reason more accurately about financial analysis, valuation, transactions, and investment banking use cases.
In this role you will
Develop realistic investment banking scenarios, prompts, and reference solutions that reflect real-world analytical workflows.
Evaluate AI-generated responses for financial accuracy, reasoning quality, technical rigor, and completeness using structured evaluations.
Collaborate with domain experts to translate finance expertise into high-quality evaluation criteria and training signals.
Identify common failure modes in financial reasoning, modelling assumptions, valuation methodologies, and transaction analysis.
Document best practices, reasoning frameworks, and evaluation guidelines to improve AI performance across financial domains.
This role will be a great fit if you
1+ years of professional experience in investment banking, private equity, equity research, transaction advisory, valuation, corporate finance, or a closely related analytical role.
Possess strong knowledge of financial modelling (including LBOs), valuation methodologies (DCF, comparable companies, precedent transactions), financial statements, and M&A processes.
Can critically assess financial reasoning and identify errors, unsupported assumptions, and gaps in analysis.
Communicate clearly and can explain why a piece of financial reasoning is correct or incorrect.
Are comfortable working with ambiguity, iterative feedback, and evolving evaluation standards.
Have an interest in Generative AI and are excited about applying your finance expertise to improve frontier AI systems.
