The Opportunity
This isn't a traditional FP&A role.
As our Senior Financial Analyst, you'll be a strategic partner to business leaders across Editorial, Sales, Technology, Marketing, and other corporate functions. You'll help guide key business decisions through thoughtful financial analysis, forecasting, and planning while identifying opportunities to improve efficiency and drive growth.
Working directly with our SVP of Financial Planning & Analysis, you'll have significant visibility across the organization and play an important role in modernizing our finance function. We're looking for someone who embraces technology, including generative AI, to automate routine work, uncover deeper insights, and help Finance become an even stronger strategic partner to the business.
If you're energized by solving complex business problems, influencing decisions, and leveraging technology to work smarter, we'd love to meet you.
What You'll Do
Own operating expense budgeting, forecasting, reporting, variance analysis and month-end close for assigned business areas.
Partner with business leaders to manage budgets, evaluate spending, and provide financial guidance.
Support the annual budget and quarterly forecasting processes.
Maintain and enhance revenue reporting packages and develop an understanding of the company's revenue streams to support reporting and analysis.
Prepare monthly and quarterly financial reporting, dashboards, and executive presentations.
Build and maintain practical financial models and perform ad hoc analyses to support business decisions.
Partner with Accounting during the monthly close process to ensure accurate financial reporting.
Leverage AI tools such as Gemini, Claude, ChatGPT, or Microsoft Copilot to improve financial analysis, reporting, and process efficiency, including experience with Claude plugins.
What You'll Bring
Required Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in finance, Accounting, Economics, Business, or a related field.
4–6 years of experience in FP&A, Corporate Finance, or Financial Planning & Analysis.
Advanced Microsoft Excel skills, including financial modeling, PivotTables, lookup functions, and data analysis.
Experience with budgeting, forecasting, operating expense management, variance analysis, and financial reporting.
Ability to build and maintain practical financial models and reporting tools.
Strong communication and presentation skills.
Experience using AI tools to improve productivity and financial workflows.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience supporting B2B media, digital publishing, advertising, or subscription-based businesses.
Familiarity with subscription or recurring revenue reporting.
Experience with FP&A planning systems (Anaplan, Adaptive Planning, Pigment, Oracle EPM, etc.).
Demonstrated ability to build AI prompts, automations, or workflows that improve finance processes and reporting.
