Job Description

Join Cartwheel as a member of our Nevada clinical team, bringing mental health care directly into rural schools across the state.

Cartwheel is the nation’s largest school-centered telehealth provider, partnering with school districts in 16 states to bring therapy, psychiatry, and family support to students who would otherwise wait months for care. We work alongside school staff and we keep parents informed and involved at every step of a student’s care. In Nevada, that means:

• Getting students help earlier, before a problem becomes a crisis
• Keeping families engaged, consulted, and informed throughout care
• Strengthening the relationship between schools, clinicians, and the student’s parents/caregivers

Catching a student who is struggling early, before a problem becomes a crisis, is one of the most effective ways to support kids. As a Cartwheel clinician, you'll help make that possible for students across Nevada.

ABOUT THE ROLE

We’re looking for a clinical leader to join our interdisciplinary care team of psychiatrists, therapists, and school health professionals. As Cartwheel’s Nevada Clinical Supervisor, you’ll deliver direct care to students and families across the state and supervise future associate licensed therapists.

Role type: This is a W2, Full-Time, Salaried position

WHAT YOU’LL DO

• Provide excellent care, including mental health assessments and teletherapy, to PreK-12 students and school staff in Cartwheel’s partner school districts
• Participate in case discussions with other Cartwheel team members
• Support students and families with transition to community care providers
• Build collaborative, trusted, and lasting relationships with school leadership, staff, students, and families. Meet and communicate regularly with school staff.
• Provide clinical supervision to MSW practicum interns and to LCSW-track associate clinicians, and deliver cultural competency training to Cartwheel staff and providers supporting Nevada clients

WHO YOU ARE

• Passion for working with schools on youth mental health and helping build a new care model for Nevada
• Active, independent Nevada LCSW license to deliver mental health care
• Approved by the Nevada Board of Examiners for Social Workers as a clinical supervisor: minimum of three years of full-time clinical practice, active LCSW license in good standing, and no disciplinary restrictions
• At least two years experience providing clinical supervision in the state
• Member of a Native or tribal community, or demonstrated experience serving Native and/or tribal populations
• Experience with CBT, DBT, ACT, solution-focused therapy, and/or motivational interviewing
• At least three years of full-time clinical practice delivering mental health services to children and youth via telehealth, consistent with Nevada’s clinical supervisor eligibility requirements. We use GSuite (Google Calendar, Gmail, etc.), electronic health record systems, and other collaboration tools.
• Access to reliable, high-speed internet (50 Mbps download, 10 Mbps upload, you can test your internet speed at https://www.speedtest.net/)
• Excellent organization, communication, and teamwork skills
• Ability to offer hours during and especially after school (e.g., 3-8 pm Pacific Time, Saturdays)
• Ability to provide effective and safe care to children and adults, including ability to manage crisis situations virtually.
• NOTE: Residency in Nevada is strongly preferred for this role

• Fluency in other languages (e.g., Spanish, Western Shoshone, or Paiute)
• Experience working with immigrant populations, rural communities, and/or military families
• Experience with parent guidance

• $80,000 - $85,000+ annual salary for your first 3-6 months, transitioning to Cartwheel’s standard performance-based model thereafter, see details below
  • First 3-6 months: annual $62,000 - $65,000 base salary, guaranteed annual $18,000 - $20,000 care contribution bonus
  • After your guaranteed period: annual $62,000 - $65,000 base salary, and you will earn meaningful care contribution bonus for providing more than 20 clinical hours of care per week, often in the range of $10,000-$40,000 per year (and possibly higher)
