About Emergence Automotive
Emergence Automotive is the AutoTech portfolio within Emergence, a thematic holding company backed by The Pritzker Organization. We acquire and build category-defining software businesses across vehicle acquisition, inventory management, dealer workflow, and operator tools. The automotive portfolio represents more than $35 million in ARR across multiple businesses with an active, accelerating M&A pipeline.
Emergence is not a passive investment platform or traditional private equity fund. We work as an embedded team with our companies, driving both acquisitions and organic growth initiatives within the vertical.
The Role
This VP position sits on a small, high-ownership team reporting to operating partners and the Head of Strategic Finance. You will focus on operating finance—working directly with portfolio company CEOs and leadership teams to:
- Understand business performance and improve decision-making
- Allocate capital strategically across the portfolio
- Build stronger software businesses through financial leadership
- Identify growth drivers, hidden margin opportunities, and next strategic moves
M&A is a core responsibility. You will manage high-velocity acquisitions within the automotive vertical, including:
- Investment-grade modeling and diligence discipline
- Acquisition, merger, and merger-of-equals models
- Synergy cases and integration economics
- Financing structures and downside-case analysis
- Post-close execution planning to translate thesis into results
Location: Remote (U.S. and Canada only)
Compensation: $200,000–$375,000, based on experience
