Role Overview

As a Managing or Senior Managing Consultant, you will lead applied research, evaluation, and consulting engagements from design through delivery. You will design rigorous research approaches, guide multidisciplinary teams, manage client relationships, and develop clear, evidence-based deliverables. This role requires expertise in evaluation methodology, client advisory skills, project management, and team mentoring.

Key Responsibilities

Lead Research & Evaluation Work

• Design and deliver applied research and evaluation engagements, including evaluation plans, research frameworks, data collection strategies, and analysis approaches
• Apply qualitative, quantitative, and mixed-method research approaches to answer client questions and generate actionable insights
• Design and oversee field research methods including interviews, surveys, focus groups, observational research, ethnographic studies, and usability testing
• Interpret research findings in context, identifying implications, risks, and opportunities for utility clients
• Develop high-quality client deliverables including reports, presentations, executive summaries, and decision-ready recommendations
• Serve as lead author and quality reviewer for executive-level findings and client-facing materials

Advise Clients & Build Relationships

• Advise clients by combining technical expertise, business judgment, and practical understanding of utility programs and customer challenges
• Build trusted client relationships through attentive listening, thoughtful questioning, and clear communication
• Identify and shape new service opportunities aligned with client needs

Guide & Mentor Team Members

• Mentor consultants and analysts in research design, evaluation methodology, and professional consulting practices
• Support team development in both technical and client-facing skills
