Sales Compensation Business Partner - Director

ServiceNow is seeking an experienced Sales Compensation Business Partner at the Director level to join our growing team on a fully remote basis. This is a strategic leadership role designed for a professional with deep expertise in sales compensation strategy, program design, and organizational leadership.

As a Sales Compensation Business Partner Director, you will play a pivotal role in designing, implementing, and managing comprehensive sales compensation programs that drive business objectives and align with company strategy. You will report directly to senior leadership and collaborate across multiple departments including Finance, Human Resources, Sales Operations, and Executive Management.

Key Responsibilities

  • Compensation Strategy & Design: Develop and implement sales compensation strategies that attract, retain, and motivate high-performing sales talent while controlling costs and ensuring competitiveness in the market
  • Program Management: Own the full lifecycle of compensation programs, from design and modeling through implementation, communication, and ongoing administration
  • Financial Modeling: Create accurate financial projections and models to forecast compensation expenses, ROI analysis, and budget management
  • Cross-Functional Leadership: Partner with Sales Leadership, Finance, HR, and Sales Operations to ensure alignment on compensation philosophy, structure, and execution
  • Performance Analytics: Analyze sales compensation data to identify trends, optimize plan effectiveness, and recommend adjustments to improve business outcomes
  • Executive Communication: Present compensation proposals and performance insights to C-suite executives and board stakeholders
  • Policy & Compliance: Ensure all compensation programs comply with relevant labor laws, regulations, and company policies across multiple geographies
  • System Administration: Manage compensation management systems and tools, ensuring accurate data, timely payouts, and seamless integration with payroll
  • Team Leadership: Build and mentor a high-performing compensation team, delegating responsibilities and fostering professional development

Required Qualifications

  • 8+ years of progressive experience in sales compensation, compensation management, or related fields
  • 5+ years in a director-level or equivalent senior leadership role
  • Proven expertise in designing and implementing complex sales compensation programs
  • Strong understanding of sales operations, revenue structures, and business metrics
  • Advanced proficiency in financial modeling and compensation analytics
  • Experience with compensation management software and HRIS systems
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills with ability to influence at executive levels
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities
  • Knowledge of multi-geography compensation practices and compliance requirements

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience at a high-growth SaaS or enterprise software company
  • Familiarity with variable compensation plans, commission structures, and incentive design
  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, Human Resources, or related field
  • Professional certifications in compensation (e.g., WorldatWork CCP, CECP)
  • Background working with large, distributed sales organizations
