The Role

As a Senior Data Engineer on the Graph Analytics team, you will build scalable graph systems that analyze large networks of cryptocurrency transactions. You will collaborate closely with engineers, data scientists, and investigators to design mission-critical graph algorithms that analyze flows of funds. You will leverage distributed databases and graph processors to implement real-time graph algorithms at multi-blockchain scale and work with data science teams to identify opportunities to apply graph theory to predictive learning problems.

Key Responsibilities

• Design and implement graph algorithms that analyze large cryptocurrency transaction networks at multi-blockchain scale
• Research new graph-native technologies to evaluate benefits for data science and engineering teams
• Collaborate with cryptocurrency investigators to identify requirements for new graph algorithms and features
• Understand and refine TRM's risk models that assign risk scores to cryptocurrency addresses
• Communicate complex implementation details to diverse audiences including investigators, customers, engineers, and data scientists
• Integrate diverse data inputs ranging from raw blockchain data to complex model outputs

Required Qualifications

• Academic background in a quantitative field (Computer Science, Mathematics, Engineering, Physics, or equivalent)
• Strong knowledge of algorithm design and data structures with real-world application experience
• Experience optimizing large-scale distributed data processing systems (Apache Spark, Apache Hadoop, Dask, distributed graph databases)
• Experience converting academic research into production products and working with research teams shipping features
• Strong programming experience with Python and SQL
• Excellent communication skills tailoring complex topics to technical and non-technical audiences
• Self-motivated with ability to propose and validate solutions with minimal guidance and comfort working with ambiguity
