Water Programs Manager (Remote)

About the Role

As Water Programs Manager at charity: water, you'll own the grant lifecycle and partnership relationships for a portfolio of global WASH (Water, Sanitation, and Hygiene) implementing partners. You'll build trusted relationships that make accountability productive, leverage technical knowledge of on-the-ground program implementation, and ensure effective strategies are evaluated and utilized across our international programs.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage the multi-year grant lifecycle for global implementation partners, including soliciting and reviewing grant proposals, approving progress reports, monitoring implementation milestones, and managing project timelines
• Monitor program performance against defined performance frameworks by setting expectations, tracking progress against agreed objectives and indicators, and reviewing progress reporting
• Conduct field visits to inform grant and program decisions
• Optimize partner program implementation through incorporation of M&E findings and by sharing effective WASH strategies and innovations
• Identify opportunities for strengthening technical and operational areas relating to program implementation, including management of external technical consultants
• Build and maintain strong partner relationships characterized by trust, candor, mutual accountability and shared commitment to quality
• Navigate difficult conversations across cultures and languages as needed
• Support portfolio and department goals and special initiatives
• Drive continuous improvements to internal processes and funded programs

Team & Structure

You'll report to the Associate Director of Program Partnerships and may manage at least one Water Programs Associate. You'll work within an integrated team coordinating partnership strategies, collaborating with the Program Finance sub-team on financial oversight and the Monitoring, Evaluation, and Learning cross-cutting sub-team.
