The Role
You'll be the trusted legal advisor business teams rely on to assess commercial risk and guide deal strategy. You'll analyze complex commercial agreements—SaaS, licensing, professional services, implementation, support, and insurance third-party administration—and help the business determine what to accept, negotiate, or decline. Your advice will be grounded in both contract law and real-world product and operational knowledge.
Key Responsibilities
Contracts, Start to Finish
- Draft, review, and negotiate commercial agreements across multiple domains (SaaS, licensing, professional services, implementation, support, insurance TPA)
- Lead negotiations with customers, vendors, and strategic partners on pricing, service levels, data protection, IP, indemnification, limitation of liability, termination rights, and regulatory terms
- Manage post-signature matters including interpretation, amendments, renewals, and dispute resolution
- Build and refine contracting tools: templates, playbooks, fallback positions, and approval workflows
Cross-Functional Partnership
- Serve as legal partner to Sales, Finance, Product, Technology, Operations, InfoSec, Privacy, and Compliance teams
- Identify legal and commercial risks early, communicate them clearly, and recommend practical solutions
- Monitor developments in commercial, technology, insurance regulatory, and privacy law that impact business operations
- Collaborate with Legal, Compliance, and Risk on broader initiatives and cross-functional projects
