About This Role

As Director of Product, you'll own product strategy and decision-making across the Weaviate Database, Weaviate Cloud, and agent products. You'll spend significant time with enterprise customers, translating their needs into a roadmap engineering can execute. You'll work directly with our CTO on vision and technical leads on feasibility.

This is a player-coach role where you'll manage a small product team (one to three PMs over time) while owning product areas directly.

Key Responsibilities

• Run continuous customer conversations: discovery calls, renewals, and support signal analysis

• Translate enterprise requirements into clear specs with underlying business problems attached

• Build and defend a prioritized roadmap using evidence-based decision-making

• Manage tradeoffs transparently with engineering teams and stakeholders

• Distinguish between deal-blocking requirements and minor requests

• Hold ground on priorities when facing competing opportunities

• Maintain deep relationships with engineering and technical leadership

Who You Are

You're comfortable engaging enterprise customers directly and actively seek those conversations. You make prioritization decisions with clear evidence and can articulate business impact and tradeoffs confidently. You understand engineering constraints and take tech debt seriously when engineers make the case. You're senior enough to push back when necessary, and you build trust through transparency about what adding to the plan means for existing priorities.

Compensation & Disclaimer

Estimated Salary Range: $200,000–$350,000 USD annually. This is an editorial market estimate based on role level and industry benchmarks—not an employer-provided figure. Actual compensation varies significantly by experience, expertise, location, and individual circumstances. Candidates should discuss compensation directly with Weaviate during interviews.
